Dr. Alex W. Ness, TH.D., D.D.

Dr. Alexander William (Alex) Ness (1921 to 1996) was a Canadian Bible teacher, lecturer, missionary statesman and author who grew up on the Canadian prairies. He taught thousands of pastors and Christian workers in Ministers' Institutes in more than 100 countries, planted churches around the world and pioneered religious television in Canada.

Life and ministry

Dr. Ness made his mark on the mission field, evangelizing massive crowds, mainly in South America, Africa and Asia. As a missionary statesman he travelled the world extensively and preached to audiences that over his lifetime numbered in the millions.

His books grew out of that teaching ministry. Pattern for Living, his 492-page study of the Tabernacle, is the most complete treatment of the subject in print. The two volumes of Holy Spirit, with their study guides, were written for Bible classes. Dear Pastor distils forty years of pastoral experience, and Transference of Spirits remains a widely read introduction to spiritual warfare.

His teaching series Unto Full Stature, filmed in the mid-1980s, is available on DVD. Moriah Publications holds worldwide exclusivity over the sale of his writings and keeps every title in print.
